Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) had organized first brief talk with postgraduates. The talk is on the management of the media. The medium of delivery was in English. The speaker shared his experience on enhance students understanding of media from a US perspective in comparison to Malaysia, to engage students with experienced scholar and practitioner. Only 5 student participants and 2 staff members were involved in this personalized talk

Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) had organized a talk with Prof Kara Chen from Hong Kong Baptist University. The medium of delivery was in English. Speaker shared her experience on youth involvement and preference in their favourite shops, the type of research methodology that was used and the way in which qualitative research is done and how it can be published. 17 participants were involved in this talk.

Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) had organized a talk with Assoc. Prof Dr Chang Peng Kee from UKM. The medium was in English. Speaker shared disseminate current information on Public Relations, had a discussion of current research on framing theory in Malaysia and discussed on government policies on dissemination on information. There was a total number of 24 participants.

Philippine which is a partner institution with UTAR, invited the Chairperson from the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) to give a talk on Violence against Women. The medium was in English. Speaker shared current information on women and violence in Malaysia and the various perspectives of today. There was a total number of 226 participants.

Ahram Canadian University, Egypt organized a Media Conference and invited the Chairperson from the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) to give a talk on a collaborative research done with Dr George Latif Sedhom on Cultural Diversity in Online Learning. The medium was in English. Speaker shared current information on using various media tools in teaching and the cultural elements involved in both Egypt and Malaysia. There was a total number of 86 participants.

AEISEC, Kampar organized a Train the Trainer workshop for students on Women in Leadership and invited the Chairperson from the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) to conduct this workshop The medium was in English. Speaker shared various tips, activities and information for students to include in their own training with school students. There was a total number of 13 registered participants.
