With the increasing awareness and hard work demonstrated by UTAR academics, the university is confident of further growth in terms of the number of publications accepted in Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) in the years to come.

UTAR Scholarly Output Performance in SCOPUS from 2002-2022

The total number of UTAR’s scholarly output (includes all types of publications) from 2002 – 2022 is 7,308 with total citations of 116,510 and average Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) of 1.28. Near to 80% of the scholarly outputs are published in the quartile journals, which 3,452 or 59.4% of the scholarly outputs are published in Q1 and Q2 indexed journals.

UTAR recorded its highest number of scholarly outputs of 1,052 in 2022, and the cumulative total publications accepted in Scopus increased from 6,256 in 2021 to 7,308 in 2022. Figure 3-1 below indicates the progress shown by UTAR researchers from year 2002 until 2022.

UTAR non-traditional scholarly output (2017-2023) Arts & Humanities

UTAR academic staff from the fields of arts and humanities produces non-traditional scholarly works such as paintings, sculptures, music scores and others.
The non-traditional scholarly output (Creative Artwork) of UTAR academic staff from year 2017 until 2022 consists of 2 categories:
1) Creative Designs & Technologies;
2) Creative Media and Languages.
And 3 sub-categories under each category:
i) Exhibition Catalog;
ii) Experimental Creative Publication; iii) Others.

As of 19 December 2022, there are 211 entries of Creative Artwork recorded from 4 Faculties i.e. Centre for Foundation Studies - Kampar Campus (CFS-KPR) Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FAS), Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) and Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI).
