Project Title Generation and characterisation of iPSC cell lines derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of Group O blood donors with specific phenotype and genotype

Specific Skills / Knowledge Required We are currently looking for a suitable applicant who wants to pursue a MSc or PhD in the study of ex vivo generation of red cells from human derived iPSC cell lines. The proposed research work will require a candidate who is meticulous and committed to their work.

The applicant should have a relevant B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Biology, with CGPA > 3.0. Proven expertise in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques is a pre-requisite. Knowledge in iPSC generation would be an added advantage.

Candidates without experience but have demonstrable knowledge and a ready willingness to learn new techniques are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and oral, and be willing to work within a team.
Job Description 1. Culture and maintain induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and embryonic stem cells (ESC)
2. Conduct cell differentiation assays
3. Conduct assays including but not limited to electroporation, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence
4. Perform general administrative matter e.g., purchasing, maintaining records
