Project Title Nickel Oxyhydroxide Recovery from Electroplating Wastewater

Entry Requirement 1. Academic background requirement: Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering/Chemistry/Environmental Science and other relevant fields
2. Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (both written and spoken)
Job Description (i) To investigate the effect of different oxidising agents in the recovery of Ni2+ from electroplating wastewater as nickel oxyhydroxide.
(ii) To study and optimise the effects of key parameters such as oxidising agent concentration, initial Ni2+ concentration, and oxidising agent-to-Ni2+ molar ratio, on Ni2+ removal from electroplating wastewater using response surface methodology.
(iii) To characterise nickel oxyhydroxide as a recoverable product using various physicochemical characterisation techniques.
