UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme (URS)



Attention all UTAR undergraduate students! Are you interested to attain hands-on experience in research projects during your undergraduate study? Sign up for the UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme NOW!

The scheme will allow students to gain a working insight into the research being undertaken by the academics with a minimum 140-hour research project attachment and provide a unique opportunity to participate in active research in the students’ interested fields of study. To apply, students are required to fill in the required particulars and indicate the research project/s they wish to be attached to at The Principal Investigator of the research project applied for will review the application, may interview the applicant and recommend the successful applicant based on their selection criteria.

There’s more! The successful student applicant will be able to gain knowledge of the R&D world thru participation in research workshop/training. Fulfillment of the minimum 8-hour research workshop attendance will entitle the student to UTAR Soft Skill Development Certificate (USSDC) 15 points under the Lifelong learning and information management module.

Ultimately, qualified students who have been certified as successfully completed the research project attachment and research workshop participation will be recommended for the award of UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme (UTAR URS) Certificate.
