Job Description
In this project, we will investigate a three-dimensional array to generate a three-dimensional beam, thus making the array most flexible for 5G applications. Three-dimensional array faces many challenges, major among them is the radiation blockage and coupling. It is necessary to find a radiator that does not block the forward radiation from its immediate neighbour. This can be a challenging task. Possible method to overcome this problem is by cleverly locating the array elements such that no element is situated at the back of another element. However, this leads to complications in beamforming algorithm as the array is no longer in the "normal" rectangular shape. Development of new beamforming algorithm may be necessary to overcome this irregular shape of array geometry.
