My research interests are inter-disciplinary in nature and include both substantive and methodological areas, organized into three clusters.

  • Music Education (Psychological processes of music teaching and learning),
  • Quantitative Methods (Psychometrics; Instrument development and validation; Cross-cultural measurement; Measurement invariance; Issues in survey development and administration; Structural equation modeling; Multilevel modeling; Latent growth modeling).

April - June 2017 ICP's Visitation 2017, 21-26 May. Prof. Timothy had meetings with UTARRF co-researchers, HoPs and postgraduate students. He gave talks on academic publishing and Structural Equation Modelling to FCI staff and postgraduate students.
July - September 2017 The contact person planning to write a research project with Prof. Timothy
October - December 2017 Successfully applied and obtained the research grant together with Professor Timothy. He is one of the co-researchers of UTARRF 2016/Cycle 2 project entitled “Factors Influencing Malaysian School Students’ Career Choices in STEM” with Dr. Priscilla Moses as the Principal Investigator (UTAR), Dr. Cheah Phaik Kin (UTAR) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wong Su Luan (Universiti Putra Malaysia). The funding amount of the recent research project is RM46, 900.00.
