  • A brain-storming session on R&D was held at UTAR Kampar where UTAR ICPs, Francis Ng, Yong HS, Goh SH and Ho CC attended as guest speakers and dialog panel members, 9-Jan-09, 11am at UTAR Kampar.
    • Participant: Researchers and staff of UTAR (80);
    • Outcome: The session was stirred up interest in certain areas of research especially in biotech and agro-based areas. The idea of UTAR Bio-Diversity Park based in UTAR Kampar was first proposed.
  • The first site visit of UTAR Kampar campus was held to explore the possible crops and activities for the UTAR Bio-Diversity Park, 12-Mar-09 to 13-Mar-09, 3pm, UTAR Kampar
    • Participant: UTAR ICPs and advisors, Francis Ng, Yong HS, Goh SH, Ho CC, Yoon YL and UTAR staff from FES and FSET.
    • Outcome: A general idea of current environmental and utilisation situation of the UTAR Kampar campus land was generated. Brief plan of the Bio-Diversity Park was formed.
  • The second site visit of UTAR Kampar campus was held. The focus is on the C4 land identified for the first phase development of UTAR Bio-Diversity Park, 1-May-09, 8am at UTAR Kampar.

    • Outcome: Initial plan on the possible crops and necessary steps to be taken to prepare the C4 land for micro-farm implementation was designed.
  • "To take a closer look at the existing and future campus area for buildings and see how we can plan the landscape of the campus in such that both aesthetic aspects and practical research and species preservation purposes can be achieved," 15-Jul-09, 8am at UTAR Kampar
