The RICS Research Trust is an established grant award charity supporting research in the disciplines of land, real estate and construction. The Trust is funded largely by RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and administered by a Board of Trustees, comprising of RICS members and independent appointees. You can browse the latest research outputs of the Trust here.

The Trust is ready to consider applications from academics and professionals from anywhere in the world, and encourages research in specific areas by means of 'defined calls' as well as applications outside specific areas as 'open calls'. Grants are awarded bi-annually in May and December, with deadlines for receiving applications in March and October, respectively. Applications are reviewed by academic experts, whilst grants are awarded by the Board of Trustees. You can find details about application process, defined calls and eligibility conditions at:

Moreover, the Trust is also looking to expand its pool of reviewers by inviting academics with expertise in relevant fields to express their interest. Acting as reviewer for the Trust provides the opportunity to raise one's academic profile and to keep up-to-date with research trends. Generally, reviewers are asked to provide comments on 1-3 applications twice a year, depending on their expertise and on the applications received by the Trust.
