Project Title: Certificate-free Key Infrastructure for Large Distributed Networks

Project Objectives :
  • To study and analyse certificate-based and certificate-free key infrastructures, and authenticated key exchange protocols.
  • To define and model new certificate-free infrastructures and authenticated key exchange protocols.
  • To design through modular and provable security approaches, new certificate-free infrastructures and authenticated key exchange protocols.
  • To develop working prototype for the new infrastructures and protocols.
Job Description      : These positions will require the researcher to assist the team on research, design, analysis and development of cryptographic protocols. The researcher will need to assist in daily administration tasks. He/she will be measured over the following non-exhaustive key parameters (in no order of importance) viz.
  • Effectiveness of the said research and development results.
  • Security and efficiency of the designed protocols.
  • Ability to think of novel solutions to existing problems.
  • Ability to identify and analyze new problems.
  • Ability to contribute with regards to Intellectual Property.
  • Ability to contribute with regards to publications in reputable conferences and journals.
  • Ability to gradually contribute to the theoretical depth of the group
  • Other measures as specified by either the organization and/or the Head of the cluster.
Salary                     : The salary will be around RM2500 per month and the period of tenure will be 18 months.
Requirements        :
  • Degree in mathematics, computer science or engineering with background in information security preferably cryptography.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills including programming in C/C++ and Java-based programming languages.
  • Self-motivated, team and results oriented, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge in number theory, complexity theory, probability, algebraic structure and provable security is an advantage.
  • Available to start working preferably 15 September 2011.
