Application for Malaysia-France - Bilateral Research Collaboration 2021 (MATCH 2021)

The Malaysia-France Bilateral Research Collaboration 2021 (MATCH) is a joint funding program with the objective of structuring and stimulating research cooperation between France and Malaysia (hereafter called together “the Parties”). It is hereinafter referred to as "the Program".

The Program aims to:

a. strengthen scientific and technological exchanges between France and Malaysia on the basis of mutual benefit;
b. support existing cooperation and encourage new collaborations and foster the development of innovative and high-level joint research projects;
c. encourage the participation of French and Malaysian researchers, particularly young researchers (MSc students, PhD students, post-doctorates) in joint research projects by supporting academic and scientific cooperation between the two countries;
d. foster the promotion and enhancement of joint research activities of the scientific communities of the two countries (scientific co-publications, seminars, workshops, joint patent registration, joint diploma); and
e. develop synergies between the scientific communities of the two countries in order to create structured and sustainable research networks of high level and recognized at European and international level.

Areas of priority cooperation:

a. Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainable Cities
b. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
c. Health (Infectious Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases and Epidemiology)
d. Information and Communications Technology (AI and Multimedia, Big Data and Cybersecurity, ICT for Ageing)
e. Engineering and Frontier Technology
f. Social Science and Economic

The following additional attachments must be provided on the proposal for Malaysian applicant:

a. Letters of Support for each named French collaborator listed as a Project Partner.
b. CVs for each of the named French collaborators should be combined into one document as attachment type “Non-Malaysian Collaborator”
c. Completed Malaysian excel budget form (MoHE Cost Proforma) which summarises details of the Malaysian applicants and the requested costs

Duration of project: 2 years
Amount: RM50,000.00

Submission Procedure: Please submit the following documents to IPSR in one set in softcopy and one set in hardcopy to IPSR by 31 March 2021:

  3. FM-IPSR-R&D-007 Recommendations Form from Research Centre & Faculty
  4. FM-IPSR-R&D-066-Executive Summary
*Submission by softcopy and hardcopy is required by MOHE
