Master of Business Administration (Corporate Governance)
Overview
The
UTAR Master of Business Administration (Corporate Governance) is one of
a select few MBA programme that addresses the importance of corporate
governance, corporate transparency and accountability, issues which are
of growing concern in the business world today.
The
programme aims to acquaint candidates with the theory and practice of
corporate governance, particularly relating to social accountability
and reporting. In doing so, candidates will become aware of matters
such as reporting, legal and regulatory framework, relevant codes of
corporate governance, and be able to examine the strengths and
weaknesses contributing towards a strong governance administration in
the Malaysian context.
In
addition, the programme gives candidates an understanding of the
behaviour, form and performance of organisations, an appreciation of
strategic issues facing a business organisation and the formulation of
long term policies to address such concerns. The MBA (Corporate
Governance) provides the candidates a balance of theoretical and
experiential learning, thus enabling them to develop business skills
for the challenging globalised world.
The
UTAR MBA (Corporate Governance) is a specialised and challenging
programme comprising 14 core subjects including research methodologies,
1 elective subject, and a Research Project. Throughout the programme,
candidates are encouraged to participate in enhancement courses such as
Project Writing Workshop, and to attend organised Lecture Series.
Who should enrol?
The
MBA (Corporate Governance) is ideal for candidates who wish to
contribute effectively in the fields of corporate administration,
corporate secretaryship, and corporate financial
management.
